Le travail confiés aux experts trouve sa source dans les limites observées au niveau des missions déployées pour veiller à la régularité et à la transparence des élections, explique Francis Gabriel OKE, Chef Division Assistance Electorale de la CEDEAO et Secrétaire Permanent du Réseau des Structures Nationales de Gestion des Elections en Afrique de l’Ouest. Tout en reconnaissant qu’aucune œuvre humaine n’est parfaite, Francis OKE souligne que les assises de Cotonou recommandées par Jean-Claude KASSI BROU, Président de la Commission de la CEDEAO, revêtent une importance capitale pour l’avenir des élections dans la sous-région. Les recommandations et les suggestions des experts sont attendues pour améliorer la qualité des missions d’observation électorale de la CEDEAO.
