Yayi Boni, l’ex- chef d’État devenu président d’un parti d’opposition
Boni YAYI , ancien président, est maintenant à la tête d’un parti d’opposition. Est-ce un recul ou plutôt une stratégie bien pensée ? En ce qui concerne le recul, il est incontestable. Pourquoi un ex-chef d’État choisirait-il de renoncer aux privilèges moraux associés à son ancienne fonction pour s’engager dans une nouvelle qui le met à la merci de ses anciens administrés ? Dans son nouveau rôle de chef de parti, il sera non seulement sous la tutelle indirecte du ministère de l’Intérieur, mais sa nomination se fera par décret. Cette image d’un ancien président nommé par décret contraste fortement avec celle d’un héros accompli qui a atteint le sommet de l’État. Nombreux sont ceux qui se demanderont : après avoir atteint les cieux, pourquoi vouloir retourner parmi les anges et Satan ?
De surcroît, la présence de son fils au bureau du parti peut sembler être une preuve de népotisme ou un signe de manque de confiance. Certains pourraient même aller jusqu’à dire que le parti se transforme en une entreprise familiale. À notre niveau, nous ne pouvons qu’observer avec une certaine déception que si les aînés sont prêts à sacrifier leurs retraites, ils ont échoué dans l’une de leurs missions les plus importantes : préparer la relève.
Du point de vue stratégique, certains pourraient voir en Yayi Boni un fin stratège qui cherche à reprendre les commandes, à dynamiser le parti et à faire front avec détermination à son successeur qu’il a toujours qualifié d’autocrate.
Cependant, bien que cette interprétation puisse être plausible, s’il a fallu pour cela écarter Éric Houndété de la tête du parti, elle alimente les rumeurs d’une possible collaboration entre l’ancien président du parti et l’actuel chef d’État, visant à marginaliser certaines figures radicales du parti lors des dernières élections législatives.
De plus, si le décret nommant Thomas Boni Yayi comme chef de file de l’opposition devait être publié rapidement dans les jours à venir, cela pourrait éclaircir les relations ambiguës et complexes entre l’ancien président Yayi Boni et l’actuel président Patrice Talon.
Yayi Boni et le président Patrice Talon cacheraient-ils une relation à la fois normale et inappropriée, compte tenu des idéaux que chacun semble défendre en surface ?
