La Commission électorale Nationale Autonome a fixé les candidats aux élections communales et municipales du 17Mai dernier sur leur sort. Des résultats provisoires dévoilés par le président de l’institution aux premières heures du 21 Mai 2020 indiquent que la municipalité de Cotonou est entièrement sous le contrôle des partis politiques initiés par Patrice Talon, le chef de l’Etat béninois.
La ville à statut particulier ainsi s’en sort avec 49 sièges dont 30 pour l’Union Progressiste et 19 pour le Bloc Républicain et zéro pour le parti des Forces Cauris pour un Bénin Émergent. Une chance pour le développement de la municipalité diront certains mais un risque selon d’autres …
Il est à noter que les communales et municipales ont vu cinq partis politiques en lice dont les trois sus cités viennent en tête et après eux le PRD de Adrien HOUNGBEDJI et l’UDBN de Claudine PRUDENCIO
