Violation flagrante du décret N°2018-262 du 28 juin 2018 portant interdiction de la publicité sur les professions médicales, les activités médicales, les médicaments et autres produits médicaux
Face à la dérive de certains organes de presse qui violent allègrement les dispositions du décret N°2018-262 du 28 juin 2018 portant interdiction de la publicité sur les professions médicales, les activités médicales, les médicaments et autres produits médicaux, le gouvernement de la République du Bénin tape du poing sur la table. En effet, trois ministres et le Secrétaire général adjoint du Gouvernement étaient face aux patrons de presse dans la matinée de ce lundi 30 mars 2020 à la salle de conférence du ministère des affaires étrangères à Cotonou.
L’objectif de cette rencontre est de rappeler aux promoteurs d’organes de presse, les dispositions du décret suscité qui interdit toutes publicités sur les professions médicales, les activités médicales, les médicaments et autres produits médicaux.
Les ministres Alain Orounla, Benjamin Hounkpatin et Séverin Quenum ont fait une mise en demeure à ses organes de presse qui offrent leurs antennes, leurs plateaux de télévision, leurs colonnes dans les journaux aux acteurs de la pharmacopée, aux »vendeurs d’illusion et vendeurs de la mort », pour vendre du poison aux populations qui croient à leur flatterie en négligeant les voies normales de consultations médicales en cas de maladie.
Par ces temps critiques de pandémie, le ministre de la santé rappelle que les guérisseurs, les tradi thérapeutes, les acteurs de la pharmacopée font des publicités mensongères avec la caution et la complicité de certains organes de presse qui prêtent franc à leur jeux en bafouant toute la règlementation et la déontologie en la matière.
Le ministre de la santé, Benjamin Hounkpatin, rappelle également qu’aucun médicament, qu’aucune activité ou profession médicale fut-il ou fut-elle autorisé(e) par le ministère de la santé ou non ne doit faire l’objet de la publicité sur les médias.
Mais, force est de constater qu’il existe au Bénin, une ribambelle de publicités abondamment diffusées sur des produits fabriqués à base de la pharmacopée et qui peuvent »guérir mille maladies à la fois ».
Cette rencontre avec les responsables d’organes presse est un rappel à l’ordre et une mise en demeure pour les radios, télévisions et journaux qui vont se prêter encore à ce jeu malsain qui décime la santé des populations.
Le ministre Séverin Quenum a rappelé que les auteurs courent des risques d’interpellation par le procureur de la république qui a mieux à faire par ces temps de Covid-19 que de poursuivre les acteurs des médias très lucides et plus intelligents pour mieux comprendre ces dispositions qui existent au Bénin depuis 2018.
